As you can see, the front celluloid cover is gorgeous; it features a raised embossed Cherub, along with roses & other flowers, along with flowing ribbons under the Cherubs one foot. There is embossed detail along the left edge along with the two right corners.
There is a heavy duty antique gold metal side clasp, which works perfectly. The metal shows wear, but helps give the album a true antique look.
The upper and lower top right corners, along with the spine and back, are done in what once was, burnt orange velvet. There is only a very small area of velvet on the back; the rest is worn down to the cloth. There’s only very minor wear to this area.
The first inside photo page has brown heavy duty tape along the spine edge. There are four pages which are completely loose.
The condition of the celluloid is quite good, with the following minor imperfections to note: a chip out of the celluloid on one of the cherubs’ toes & a very small crack along the side of the cherub’s one knee area. This is quite minor.
The album is 8 ½” wide, 10 ½” long & 2” deep. It’s also quite heavy, weighing over 4 lbs.
Although not perfect, this antique celluloid album makes a gorgeous display piece. It would look especially nice displayed during the holiday, with holly, berries or a beautiful antique flower. No matter how it’s displayed, you will no doubt love it; it has a wonderful look.
