Welcome to my shop, where quality & satisfaction is guaranteed. LAYAWAY plans available. All reasonable offers considered.
This pitcher is marked England on the bottom, which was very, very difficult to capture; there may be other marks but I can’t be certain. Although there isn’t a maker’s mark, this pitcher is attributed to Shorter & Boulton.
The pictures speak for themselves, so I’ll concentrate on the condition. The condition is quite good with the following to note: there are two hairline cracks, which I tried to capture on the inside. They are not visible on the outside. There is crazing over the entire piece, but certainly nothing objectionable; crazing is very common in antique majolica. The bottom has a couple small stress cracks, which appear to be original to the pitcher. They do not go into the inside. There is a teensy chip next to the hairline crack on the side; you can see this in my photo.
The approximate measurements are: 7 3/8” high & the circumference at the bottom, below the handle, is 22”.
You certainly will not be disappointed in this wonderful Majolica fish pitcher-it would certainly enhance any collection.
