You are looking at a stunning hand painted vintage framed picture/plaque, which dates to the 1930's. This piece is also quite heavy, weighing over 2.9 lbs.
As you can see, the porcelain ceramic picture features gorgeous hand painted blue & white flowers, with quite a bit of greenery. The background color at the top is a very light creamy yellow. The artist was very talented, as the detail work is amazing.
This piece is signed at the bottom; I can’t read all of it, but the last name appears to be Caslin.
The back of the plaque has two mfg. names, one edge reads: Gladding McBean & Co. U.S.A.; the other bottom edge reads: Hermosa – Trade Mark.
As you can see the plaque is held in place by wooden pieces, which have been nailed to the frame. The pieces are at opposite ends. A wire picture hanger has been added for hanging.
The antique gold frame, which has a dull finish, features carved detail around each corner.
The overall condition is excellent, with the following to note: there are areas on the frame which have minor chips/minor paint loss. When you turn the plaque a certain way, you can see little spots; they almost look like water spots. This will probably clean up, but you really don’t have to do a thing, since it’s not really visible. There are no chips or cracks on the plaque.
The framed dimensions are: 13 5/8” long & 7 ľ” wide. The plaque only is 12” long & 6” wide.
This is an outstanding hand painted vintage plaque, which you will absolutely love.
PLEASE NOTE I HAVE ANOTHER VINTAGE HAND PAINTED PICTURE/PLAQUE WITH THE SAME FRAME. THEY BOTH CAME FROM THE SAME ESTATE. THE OTHER IS LISTED SEPARATELY & FEATURES LARGE PURPLE ROSES. THE MFG. IS POMONA.
THE LAST PHOTO SHOWS THE TWO PLAQUES TOGETHER.
