Lady Head Vase with Braids in Blue and Peach by Ty-Nee

Here is a head vase not often seen. Her maker is Ty-Nee but the label is gone. She does have the Japan sticker still there. She stands 4 ½” high. Overall condition is very good with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is a small nick on the bottom of the base. She does have subtle crazing.

The young girl has light brown hair done up in braids with powder blue hair bows on the ends. At the top of the braids are flowers in the same blue. Not real noticeable is a faint overspray of this color on the sides of her face.

The dress is painted in a peach color with a big ruffled neckline. Her red lips have a tiny white spot at one corner. Her drop pearl earrings are original and have dulled a bit over time.

These figural planters were originally sold in dime stores like Woolworth’s and floral shops. Vintage pottery from the 50’s and 60’s continues to rise in value every day and is considered “very collectible”.
