Dancing Mardi Gras Figurines in Costume Masks & Gemstones by Kreiss

Here is another terrific pair of figurines stamped Kreiss and Company. They also have the rare label Royal Elegance on both pieces and in addition, one has a Japan sticker. They are from the Mardigras line.

Not counting the feathers, the male is almost 11” tall and the female is 10 ¾” high. Both are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, nicks, repairs or crazing. All the hand painting is original and bold and bright and in really good shape with little to no wear.

Both man and lady are in carnival costume wearing aqua blue tights, smiling, dancing and having a good time. Her shoes are gold and his are orange and both have frilly pompoms on them. Their shirt and blouse are long sleeved with stripes. Both are also wearing a lime green head scarf or bandana and atop their heads are bright orange cowboy style hats with black and white feathers.

Their Mardi Gras masks are black and each have blue gemstone eyes and ruby red stone earrings. Their bases are painted black, pink and gold.

This vintage set is another great example of the work of Kreiss from the 50’s and 60’s. Their ceramic figurines representing all kinds of things and themes are “very collectible”.
