This circa 1880 Victorian 14K gold pin has a light-hearted design of a pinwheel or open flower whose petals are set with natural half-pearls. The pinwheel is 1” in diameter and has a rosy hue (sometimes called pink gold) contrasted by a 4mm genuine pearl. The pin shaft is silver, the clasp is a rose-gold C shape. There are no markings on the piece (as was typical of many pieces of jewelry in the period, especially if they were made domestically) yet the piece tests as 14K gold purity. This perky pinwheel is in very fine condition and is an eternally elegant form.
