This is a a fantastic antique Russian lacquer box featuring 3 women in beautiful garb surrounded by period decor. The box is signed by the artist but it is difficult to decipher. The work is exquisite with colors that are rich and vibrant. The painting on the top of the box is in excellent condition with no areas of damage. Excellent gold border in 2 separate areas on the top also give it a very special feel. The box is hinged and the interior is lined with fabric (all original). The base has 3 raised feet. The sides of the top have an area of about 1/4 inch of some lacquer loss. It does not show when viewed on display, but is mentioned for accuracy. This minor defect is commensurate with the age of this beautiful piece.

The box is 6 inches in diameter and octagonal in shape. A fantastic piece to add to any fine Russian lacquer box collection.
