Famous Hollywood Landmark Restaurant Ware Dinner Plates

From Sophia Loren and Jayne Mansfield to Myrna Loy and David Niven, all of Hollywoods famous would dine at the famous Romanoff's on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

Owner Michael Romanoff who claimed to be born Prince Michael Dimitri Alexandrovich Obolensky-Romanoff, nephew of Tsar Nicholas II would play chess with Humphrey Bogart at a booth Bogey purchased as his own in the restaurant. In the movie "Miracle on 34th Street", Santa Claus mentions on the Witness stand about someone in a Restaurant claiming to be Russian Royalty, an obvious reference to Michael Romanoff

The Restaurant opened in 1941 and closed in 1962 and earned it's place in the California Movie Industry history!

Here are 6 Shenango Plates from the Romanoff's..

The plates measure 8". They are marked with the Shenango Logo New Castle, PA U.S.A. RIMROL WELROC H-15 on the back.

The front logo was used by the Romanoff's in Beverly Hills, CA which dates 1956.

I wonder which stars may have eaten from these plates?

The condition is very good with no chips, cracks, repairs, flakes, or crazing. The pattern is completely intact.

One plate has a slight manufacturers error with a dip on the front edge of the plate. There is some light scratching due to use.

This Restaurant has long faded into Movie History with only a few reminders still existing. This could be the rare find for you!
