More Vintage Charms & Ocean Bottom Photography coming soon! ~ Ask about our layaway plan...fulfill your wish list : )
I love the fine carved details in the clam, oyster and mussel shells. These shiny, gold tone little mollusks (3/4" to 7/8" of an inch in size) are nestled between 5 real, miniature shells.
This Napier charm bracelet is 14K gold plated as all Napiers are, but unlike its bulkier cousins in my store (Gold and silver tone lanterns), this cutie is delightfully lightweight, as delicate as the tune it jingles. This one IS for the feint of wrist, but not the heart! If you have a love for all things beachy and are drawn to the ocean, by all means, this is a charm bracelet that belongs on your arm.
Wearable length is 7 1/8" inches. Elongated tagged catch is signed in script, "Napier".
Bit ‘O History: Napier is one of the oldest jewelry companies in the United States, being founded in 1875 in North Attleboro Massachusetts. However the contemporary jewelry signed Napier, probably has very little in common with the jewelry produced by Whitney and Rice and under President James Napier from the 1920’s to the 1960’s. As they say, they don't make'em like they used to! They generally made silverware but their production switched to modern jewellery after WW1, with their designs becoming highly sought after and collectable, such as chunky gilt metal charm bracelets and early sterling designs. The company ceased trading in 1999.
