RARE Chanel Sautoir is here!!! ~ Plus, Christmas items coming in!
This absolutely minty green Vendome demi parure set (necklace & earrings) just glistens with crystals and glass, complemented by the smooth, satin sheen of the larger beads or faux pearls. Perfect and glorious symmetry, nothing less than what's expected of Vendome – the high-end division of Coro!
Spring or mint green colors are shown off by textured art glass, white faceted, teardrop- and round-shaped green aurora borealis crystals, which are embellished with gold tone swirl spacer beads and filigree end caps. What a symphony of beauty! All the same beads are gathered in a cluster to echo the necklace in the matching clip back earrings, with screw adjustment.
The necklace measures 19 1/2" inches at its longest point. The earrings measure 1" inch around. One of Vendome's hallmark hook closures, the dogwood-style flower, is signed on the back with VENDOME in capital letters. Condition is excellent. A minute nick on one of the mint-colored faux pearls. No other flaws noted.
Bit O’ History: VENDOME: 1944 – 1979 (Division of Coro) Vendome was established as a subsidiary of Coro to manufacture a superior line of jewelry. Coro was established in the early 1900’s in Providence, Rhode Island. The Vendome mark was used as early as 1944 on charm bracelets and faux pearl jewelry, but the Vendome line which began in the 1950's did not become popular until the early 1960's, largely due to beautiful designs introduced by Helen Marion, Vendome's principal designer. Vendome jewelry used the best of imported rhinestones and faceted crystal beads. The clarity and brilliance of the stones and top quality metalwork combined in artistically expressive designs were the main factors behind Vendome's success. The jewelry is highly collectible and should continue to rise in prices.
