Vendome is one of the few vintage costume designers that consistently delivers excellent pieces from the past, and their stunning art glass trumpet, tulip or sometimes called “bell-shaped” art glass sets are exceptional. I have had the great fortune to happen upon two of them. But this one outdoes the last one. I was delighted to find one with double strands, along with the matching bracelet and complementary earrings. Wow! I did have the luck of finding a pair of earrings to include with this magnificent set – drops that match the crystals in this set exactly - however, they are not the Vendome earrings that go with this set.

This vintage Vendome double strand necklace features stunning amber, topaz and white swirled art glass trumpet flowers, interspersed with dazzling green aurora borealis (foil coating) Swarovski crystals. Beneath each flower bead there is a ring spacer with tiny prong set rhinestones. The bracelet expands and clings, so it confirms to any wrist size. This color combination pairs a gorgeous neutral with a pop of green.

The art glass trumpet flowers are dainty but substantial enough to be noticed! Just the right size for a classy statement, I think. The Tiny Fleur Di Lis at the end of the closure strand is the telltale hallmark of Vendome.

Necklace measures 17" inches in length, including the closure strand. The bracelet measures 6" or 23 cm (unextended). Drop dead gorgeous set in excellent condition. The earrings measure 2" from the top of the crystal to bottom of the crystal dangle.

Bit O’ History: VENDOME: 1944 – 1979 (Division of Coro) Vendome was established as a subsidiary of Coro to manufacture a superior line of jewelry. Coro was established in the early 1900’s in Providence, Rhode Island. The Vendome mark was used as early as 1944 on charm bracelets and faux pearl jewelry, but the Vendome line which began in the 1950's did not become popular until the early 1960's, largely due to beautiful designs introduced by Helen Marion, Vendome's principal designer. Vendome jewelry used the best of imported rhinestones and faceted crystal beads. The clarity and brilliance of the stones and top quality metalwork combined in artistically expressive designs were the main factors behind Vendome's success. The jewelry is highly collectible and should continue to rise in prices.
