BLOWOUT inventory reduction sale!
These poured glass earrings and plique a jour butterfly brooch were made in 1966, under Trifari's premiere designer, Alfred Philippe, as part of their "Modern Mosaics" line of jewelry, which featured colorful pieces of irregular shaped glass. Rarely do you see the Christmas tree pin or the Maltese cross in this line. Even rarer still to find these earrings!
The glass is open back between the gold plated frame, so the light shines through, like a stained glass window. The earrings measure 1" long and have a shiny gold plating. Clip backs are sturdy and close with a nice click. Condition is excellent! Vintage plique a jour Trifari butterfly pin measures 2" inches X 1 7/8" inches. It is in excellent condition as well.
WHAT IS POURED GLASS? Molten glass is actually poured into the jewelry finding or frame itself to create the stone.
FOR REFERENCE: I have included a picture of the 1966 Modern Mosaics line vintage advertisement.
