This beautifully faceted, finely detailed Edwardian garnet maltese cross pin comes over the border from an estate in Ontario, Canada. This petite brooch dates from somewhere between the late 1890's and the early 1900's. The garnet gem stones are bezel and prong set in gilt brass (as was common in this era). Each teardrop measures 3/8" of an inch or about 10 mm long. In addition to the four bezel seat teardrops, there is a round, faceted cabochon stone, in a raised bezel setting, measuring 3/16" ...
