This beautiful antique doll is a 24” Simon & Halbig / Bergmann doll. She was manufactured in the early 1900’s by the German firm of C. M. Bergmann. She is signed on the back of her head, “C. M. Bergmann, Simon & Halbig, S & H.” She has a perfect bisque socket head, and her original fully-jointed composition body. Her mohair wig & pate are original. She is display-ready, including an antique-style dress, vintage pantaloons, antique flannel slip, newer shoes, fishnet-type stockings, and an antique felt bonnet. This is her detailed description:

HEAD: She has a perfect bisque socket head, with NO hairlines, chips, cracks, or repairs. She has the prettiest blue sleep eyes that work well. She has original eyelid wax, with a chip in the wax on the left eye. She has nice quality bisque with pretty coloring, and even cheek blush. Her upper & lower eyelashes are painted at a slant. Her eyebrows are nicely-painted and feathered. She has an open mouth with (4) upper teeth, and her lips are well-painted.

WIG: She has her original brunette mohair wig, and her original cardboard pate.

BODY: Her original composition body is fully-jointed at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees. The body’s in good sturdy condition, with some age soil. There are a few chips at the hip joints, and (2) fingers have been replaced and repainted. There’s also a repair/repaint on the side of the left foot. Otherwise, the body is original finish.

CLOTHES: She’s wearing a newer antique-style dress, antique flannel half-slip, antique pantaloons, antique bonnet, newer socks and shoes. Her antique-style cotton dress is a pretty light peach color. It’s in nice condition, and has a lot of nice details. There’s a slim band at the neck and the waist, and a ruffled hem. There’s white lace trim at the cuffs and hem, and several rows of vertical lace on the skirt. The bodice has several rows of tiny pin tucks, and (3) tiny white buttons. The dress closes in back with (6) tiny button & loop closures. There are also button & loop closures at the cuffs. Her flannel half-slip has a slim band at the waist and is pinned shut at the back waist. There is pretty embroidery on the skirt. The pantaloons have an elasticized waist, and wide lace at the hem. The slip & pantaloons are nice condition. Her stockings are ecru fishnet-style. Her German-style leather shoes have a bow at the toe, and tie in the center. We gave her a nice antique bonnet. The bonnet is brown felt, decorated with brown ribbon and old silk flowers.
