This late 1800’s Kestner antique doll is ALL ORIGINAL! She’s 21” tall, and was manufactured by the German firm of J. D. Kestner. Her mold number is #154, and she is signed on the back of her shoulderhead, “9 154 dep.” She has a perfect bisque shoulderhead, and her original kid leather body with cloth lower legs, and perfect bisque lower arms. Her blonde mohair wig, plaster pate, and the bows in her hair are original. Her clothes are also original, including her dress/gown, half-slip, pantaloons, camisole, shoes, and stockings. This is her detailed description:

HEAD: Her bisque shoulderhead is PERFECT, with no hairlines, chips, cracks, or repairs. Her bisque is good quality and smooth to the touch. She has brown eyes that are still on the eye rocker, but someone reset them stationary. She has upper & lower eyelashes that are painted at a slant. Her beautifully-painted eyebrows are feathered. She has an open mouth, painted lips with pretty shading, and (4) upper teeth.

ORIGINAL WIG & PATE: Her original plaster pate was removed for shipping, but is still with her. She has her original blonde mohair wig. It has lost some hair over the years, but has a lot of the original curls, and displays nicely.

BODY: Her original body is made of kid leather with cloth lower legs and perfect bisque lower arms. The body’s in sturdy condition for the age of the doll. There is a piece of tape at one shoulder and some rest itching at both shoulders to prevent leaking sawdust. The body is gusseted at the hips and knees. In the photos the leather arms look a little lighter than the torso. Her bisque arms are pretty, and have no chips, cracks, or repairs.

CLOTHES: Her original clothes include a dress/gown, half-slip, pantaloons, chemise, stockings, and shoes. The dress is ecru, and has amazing details. There’s lace trim at the neck, cuffs, and hem. There are (3) layers of lace trim on the bodice and (3) more on the sleeves. There’s a tiny bow at each cuff, and pretty ribbon trim on the skirt. The bodice and sleeves have multiple rows of tiny pin tucks. The dress is in nice sturdy condition, with a few little age stains. The dress never had any closures, and is pinned shut in the back. The matching ecru half-slip is very nice. It does have faint pinpoint stains all over. The slip has a wide band at the waist, and a ruffled hem. There is pretty lace trim and (4) rows of pintucks at the hem. The slip never had closures, and is pinned shut. Her ecru cotton camisole and matching pantaloons are in very good condition. (protected by the outer clothing) The camisole is unfinished at the sleeves and hem, and it has a few little pinholes on the bodice. The matching ecru pantaloons have a wide band at the waist, and lace at the hem. Her original black fishnet stockings are in good condition for the age, and are typical of Kestner kid-body dolls. Her original shoes have seen better days, but it’s great that they are still with her. They are black leather with a buckled strap, and have a lot of wear. This doll is completely original…..even the bows in her hair.
