This gorgeous antique doll is wearing her original factory chemise. She's a 24" Simon & Halbig, mold #550. She was manufactured in the early 1900’s by the German firm of Simon & Halbig. She has a perfect bisque socket head on her original fully-jointed composition & wood body. She’s signed on the back of her head, “550, Germany, Simon & Halbig, S & H.” She is beautifully dressed in a white antique-style dress, camisole with matching pantaloons, original chemise, stockings, shoes, and bonnet. This is her detailed description:

HEAD: Her bisque socket head is PERFECT, with NO hairlines, chips, cracks, or repairs……not even a cheek rub. She has pretty brown sleep eyes, with painted upper & lower eyelashes. Her eyebrows are beautifully painted & feathered. Her mouth is open, with (4) upper teeth. She has nice coloring, and smooth bisque. She’s wearing a pretty blonde mohair wig that looks like a replacement. The wig is full and clean, with pretty curls all over.

BODY: Her composition & wood body is fully jointed at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees. The body’s in very good condition, with all fingers and toes intact. There are a couple of good-sized chips at the hip joints. The body’s all original finish except for a repair & repaint at the right shoulder. (see photo)

CLOTHES: She is nicely dressed in her original chemise, antique-style dress, camisole with matching pantaloons, socks, shoes & bonnet. Her original chemise is a gauze-type material. It has red rickrack trim on the bodice, and dainty lace at the neck & cuffs. It’s in sturdy condition, but the lace at the neck could be mended, and there are a couple of tiny holes. It never had any closures. I have a Simon & Halbig doll in my own collection that’s in the original box, and she is wearing the exact same chemise. Her white cotton antique-style newer dress is very pretty. It has a row of wide eyelet on the bodice with pink insertion ribbon. It has elasticized sleeves, and it closes in back with (3) buttons. Her vintage pantaloons and matching chemise are adorable! Both are trimmed with eyelet and pink ribbon. The camisole closes in back with (2) tiny buttons. Her white cotton stockings may be original. Each stocking has a couple of small holes near the toe, and a few little stains. She is also wearing vintage shoes tat are in nice condition. The shoes are black oilcloth with center-ties. We gave her a vintage bonnet. The bonnet is white organdy with pink trim and wide pink ribbon ties. The bonnet has a couple of tiny holes in the back.
