This stunning antique doll was manufactured by the German firm of C. M. Bergmann in the early 1900’s. Her head was made by Simon & Halbig for the Bergmann factory. She’s 18" tall, and is signed on the back of her head, “C. M. Bergmann, Simon & Halbig, 7.” She has a perfect German bisque socket head that’s mounted on her original, fully-jointed composition body. Her original dark blonde wig is made of human hair. She's beautifully dressed in a vintage white cotton & eyelet dress. She's also wearing a full slip, bloomers, knee-high stockings, and black center-tie shoes. Her ears are pierced, and she is wearing matching earrings with tiny faux pearls. This is her detailed description:

HEAD: Her bisque socket head is perfect, with NO hairlines, chips, cracks, repairs, or factory flaws…..not even a cheek rub. She has some really minor wig pulls near the upper right rim, and that’s it. She has beautiful blue sleep eyes that work perfectly. She has original eyewax, a few remaining upper eyelashes, and painted lower eyelashes. Her eyebrows are nicely painted and feathered. Her coloring is lovely, with pretty cheek blush, and nice lip shading. She has an open mouth with (4) upper teeth. Her ears are pierced, and have no chips. She’s wearing tiny faux pearl wired earrings.

WIG: Her dark blonde human hair wig looks original. It’s a little thinner than it once was, but still has plenty of hair for display. Her original cardboard pate is still attached to the wig.

BODY: Her original composition body is fully jointed at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and knees. The body’s in very good, sturdy condition. There’s a paint chip on the top of the left foot, a scrape on the lower right leg, and some rubs at the hip and knee joints. The body is 95% original finish. There are a few little touchups on the upper arms, and torso, and some minor restoration around the neck. All fingers and toes are intact, and have lots of detail, including the original red factory lines on the fingers. On closer inspection, her right pinky finger maybe restored…..if so, they did a great job.

CLOTHES: She's wearing a beautiful vintage dress that's made of white coton & eyelet. It's a high-waisted dress that's trimmed with a pale peach ribbon at the waist. There are (2) rows of pintucks on the skirt, and there's pretty lace trim at the collar, cuffs, and hem. The dress closes in back with a button & loop at the neck, and a snap at the back waist. Her white cotton bloomers have a wide band at the waist, pintucks on the legs, and lace trim at the hem. The bloomers close in back with a snap at the waist. Her white cotton full slip is pretty with a wide band at the waist, pintucks on the skirt, and lace trim at the neck & sleeves. The slip closes in back with (2) tiny snaps. Her stockings are white knee-highs, and her shoes are vintage black center-ties with a gold toe decoration. We added a vintage white cotton & eyelet bonnet. The bonnet has white ribbon ties that are frayed at the edges.
