Extraordinary scrimshaw cribbage board, made c.1987 from the antler of a white tail deer, featuring the beautiful designs of Alaska scrimshaw artist, A.W. (“Anthony”) Christensen. There are 3 artist’s renderings: deer at the base of the board, bob-white quail at one of the branches, and wild turkeys at the other branch. The base of the board has been capped with a wood inlay piece, and there are 4 original carved pegs – 2 small and 2 large – that are housed in a cup plugged with a cork. The board was custom made for Phil Hilton, also a craftsman. From the base of the board to the most distant of the 4 points, the board measures approximately 13”. The distance is slightly less to the other three points.

The board, pegs and cup are all in perfect condition. It does not appear that the board has ever been used.
