About Two For His Heels

About Us
It has now been a year since this shop was launched, and it has continued to grow. We are extremely grateful to all those who have made the shop a success.

We have decided to experiment with new categories for the cards offered. As a first step in that direction, we have created a separate category under “Collectibles” for “Playing Cards Pin-Up,” whatever the country of origin, and have moved all pin-up cards to that category. We have also expanded the “Playing Cards Novelty” category under “Collectibles” to cover all decks with unusual shapes, including round cards; we will be offering additional round cards in the near future and decided it would be useful to have a separate category that would show them all.

We are also considering additional categories, and if you have any suggestions on this (or any other) subject, we would welcome your input.

Ruby Lane groups items into two major categories that are relevant to this shop: “Antiques” and “Collectibles.” For the most part, the items sold here have been categorized as “Antiques” if we have good reason to believe they are at least 100 years old, and categorized as "Collectibles" otherwise. What this means is that under "Antiques" you will find a type of item, and under "Collectibles" you will find the same type of item. However, for an item to be listed as “Antique,” Ruby Lane requires a charge of at least $50, and only a certain percentage of "Antique" items may be listed for less than $100. There are some decks of cards for sale here that are more than 100 years old, but are priced below $50, and many that are priced from $50 to $100; all antique decks below $50, and some antique decks between $50 and $100 can be found in the “Collectibles” section.

We have a sister shop, “Harold’s,” that offers quality antique smalls. However, all antiques that we have for sale related in any way to card games will be listed on this website, including antique styles that are emphasized at Harold's. If it is a game, but does not involve cards, it will be listed at Harold’s.

We are buyers (and collectors!), as well as sellers. If you have a collection, or even an individual item, that you are interested in selling, we would welcome a dialogue.

Steve is a member of the International Playing Card Society, 52 Plus Joker, the Ephemera Society, and Chicago Playing Card Collectors, Inc.

Thanks for visiting.
