Sterling silver vanity set by Woodside Silver Co in original box consists of: one 8 11/16" shoehorn, nail knife, cuticle blade, bone toothbrush, nail buffer and button hook, all with sterling silver iris pattern handles. All pieces are inscribed with the name "Maud" in flowing script. The silver is in excellent condition, polished beautifully with some tarnish in the grooves which enhances the antique look and feel of these pieces. The toothbrush is in excellent condition and looks to have been used sparingly. Nail buffer leather is intact with very little staining. All silver is marked with the Woodside logo, a W inside of a wreath and sterling. The number 1721 is only seen on the nail buffer. The presentation/storage box is wood and covered with black fabric which was likely green in color when it was made. The satin lined interior is signed in gold and reads: Geo. Wolf & Co. Louisville, Ky". As far as I can tell, the hand mirror and ointment jar are all that is missing from this set. The blades on the nail cutters and the blade on the shoe horn show some surface wear, also the satin lining the bottom inside of the box is shredding and does have a mildew smell. The hook is all that is missing from the box closure. Woodside Silver Co. operated from the late 1800s til mid 1920s.
