This Amish patchwork piece was originally part of a chair-back cover. It is from Holmes County, Ohio. The piecing was done by machine in the Amish manner. The pattern of tumbling blocks in the dark cottons is unmistakably Amish in its dramatic use of color. It dates from the Depression years and is all cotton. It is in excellent condition and suitable for framing or making into pillows. It measures 34" X 20." It has been in a collection since the 1980's.
