This beautiful old porcelain bowl measures 7 1/2" in diameter and is 3" tall. It has hand-painted poppies in red, white, and yellow inside. The flowers, buds, and foliage are well-depicted, but the bowl is not signed. It was probably decorated by a gifted amateur artist, possibly a lady. There is lavish gold decoration on the rim and on the outside. The bowl is in perfect condition. It came from a Chicago area estate. The Noritake mark indicates Japanese manufacture after 1911. This type of decorated porcelain was in vogue until around 1930, so this bowl probably dates from between 1911 and 1930.
