This smooth barkcloth is medium-weight and tightly woven with only a slight texture. The piece is 48" wide by 106" (3 yards) long. It has never been washed or used. It dates from around 1950. The background is creamy white; the roses are raspberry and burgundy; the foliage is forest green and army green; and the lilacs are slate blue. Along one side is printed "Saison Happily Married Fabrics Vat Prints Pre-Shrunk."

This blanket is about 25-30 years old and in perfect condition. It is a pretty dark plaid in forest green, turquoise, gray, and burgundy. There is a 5" twisted fringe made of the warp threads at either end making the blanket a total of 77" long and 53" wide. The blanket is the same on both sides and so is reversible. The wool is soft and closely woven; this is a clean, very nice 100% wool blanket. It will fit a twin sized bed. The Pendleton label is attached to one corner.

This carriage blanket is very, very soft, being a wool, mohair, and nylon blend. It is woven in warm browns and cream. The blanket is 72" long (including a 2" fringe at either end) and 50" wide. Its label reads "Creagaran Made in Scotland by South of Scotland Hand Weavers Ltd. 75% mohair 20% wool 5% nylon." It is in perfect condition. It is about 40 years old.

This 1920's desk accessory reminds one that we haven't always had email! One would drop a bit of sealing wax on the flap of a letter and press the stamp onto it; presto, the letter is sealed and officially monogrammed. This stamp, marked "Germany" on one side, is brass. The base unscrews from the smoothly polished agate handle, presumably for polishing. The stamp is 2 5/8" long. It is in excellent condition.

This cotton-rayon blend brocade fabric square was originally intended as a dining room chair cover; the floral design mimics needlepoint. It is machine-woven, in excellent condition, and quite durable. It dates from the 1930's or 1940's. There are four available. Each fabric square measures 22" X 20." The corners have been trimmed a bit, but this should not effect the functionality of these covers. They may also be made into accent pillows.

This ladies' personal item held hosiery, hankies, scarves, jewelry, or whatever one wished. It is blue-gray silk satin on the outside and peach satin on the inside. Inside one of the six pouches is an old Marshall Field and Company label sewn by hand. The surface decoration is hand-quilted at 12 stitches per inch; the outer areas are stuffed as well to make them stand out. The little pouch set is in perfect condition. It is 4 1/2" X 6." Here are six yards of uncut ca. 1950 heavy, nubby cotton barkcloth in never-used condition. The fabric is 36" wide. Along one edge is printed "a coldco vat print." The barkcloth features an abstract design of chartreuse feathers along a red knotted ribbon. Black, forest green, and red abstract figures accent the feathers. This is unusual and fun fabric; the design has a lot of movement. There are a few water stains; washing before using is recommended.

This pretty bottle is cut and polished crystal with a red glass or stone cap. The cork is in good condition. The design, different on each side, is reverse-hand-painted on the inside of the bottle. It has nice detail; the cranes are very graceful and artistically rendered. The bottle is 3 1/4" tall, 1 5/8" wide, and 7/8" thick. It probably dates from the 1920's, is probably Chinese (there are no marks), and is in perfect condition.

It is machine hemmed all around. It is a rayon blend fabric that may be machine washed, and it requires little or no ironing.

This old ivory piece from Japan is in the form of a plump kneeling man holding a raised mallet. He is grinning happily. The carving is good quality with nice detail, especially on the figure's face. The piece may or may not be a netsuke. There are figures carved on the bottom, possibly a signature. The figure is 2 1/4" tall, 1 1/8" wide, and 1" thick. The age is uncertain, but the ivory has darkened with age. It is definitely from before World War II.
