45"/100c Steiff Studio Tiger 1960 Raised Script Button

This mighty King of India is Steiff's Studio "Tiger" mohair male #1399,90 made in 1960. In his left ear is the raised script Steiff button. He is in near-mint condition with his original wooden fangs (yet he seems to be smiling), thick nylon whiskers, yellow-green glass eyes, pink perle cotton floss over peach felt nose, and working pull-wire growler! (Studio version also made in 1966, but with vinyl teeth, thinner whiskers, and his fur isn't as colorful) this is the more rare version with the wooden teeth and thick charming whiskers. This adorable Studio Tiger measures: 34" high at tips of ears, 27" high at hiney, 60" long nose to hiney plus another 39" to the tip of the tail; he measures 18" wide across the back feet. Tiger's yellow body is smooth short mohair over a sturdy frame and his beautiful stripes are airbrushed; he stands alone perfectly on his flat cardboard-insole feet. The nose is stitched with pink floss, and claws are stitched black perle cotton floss. If BIG is what drives the collection, this is the prize of size!! Very clean from a non-smoking home.
