RARE sewing machine in even more rare size in fine fully working order, this handsome child's chain-stitch sewing machine is in near-mint in-the-box condition. Made by Muller, it is marked: "Germany" on the base, and "No. 267966" on the sewing-plate. Cut sheet metal is painted in black enamel with fanciful gold-painted designs. The wheel is cast aluminum with a wooden knob, and the sewing-plate and mechanics are steel. Included are the table clamp, tensioning key and original spool of Gruschwitz thread still on the spindle. The single sheet of instructions is in French, "Muller Machine a coudre pour enfants. Mode d'Emploi." The box lid full-color lithograph shows a c.1885 scene of Mother sewing with this machine, while Daughter & Dolly watch. These chain-stitch machines are scarce and very hard-to-find.Please call or email us with any questions you may have.
