The Arcade Company of Freeport, IL, produced cast iron dollhouse furniture from 1925 to 1936. This complete Kitchen set is in Arcade's harder-to-find 1-inch equals 1-foot scale (most of their pieces are in 1 1/2-inch equals 1-foot, plus they made 3/4-inch equals 1-foot). The five pieces are in very good condition, painted warm ochre-yellow, all pieces have paint chipped around the edges. All but the chair have blue & gold "An Arcade Toy" decals, with numbers, etc., impressed underneath. The set is described below: Table = 3 1/8"x 2 1/4"x 2" tall; "648 ARCADE" Chair = 1 1/4"x 1 1/4"x 2 1/2" tall; "652" Sink, 4 Legs = 4 1/4"x 1 5/8"x 2 3/4" tall; "ARCADE // MADE IN U.S.A. // 649" Stove = 3"x 2"x 3 3/4' tall; "ARCADE // MADE IN U.S.A. // 645"; raised "Hotpoint" logo on opening oven door, four burners & raised control dials Icebox = 2 1/2"x 1 3/4"x 3 7/8" tall; "Kelvinator" logo at top front; one side door opens to show tiny faux drawers; no numbers, slot in back so it can be used as a still-bank The Arcade kitchens only came with one chair for the cook, as Breakfast Nook sets complimented the Kitchens. This is a great find, especially a complete set with decals!
