1890s German Tin Farmyard Bisque Lady & Birds

Here's a charming old toy – a painted tin fenced farmyard from Germany, c.1890, with bisque Farm Maid, Dachshund, 10 various birds and a bunny; Tom Turkey and the Pea Hens are stamped "Germany". The farmyard measures 10"x 14.5"x 6.5" with a 3.5" fence on three sides and 6.5" tall 2-shelf roofed aviary at the back. The Farm Maid is 5" tall with molded Germanic costume, cap and bowl of bird feed – plus her right hand has a palm full of molded seed. She has a molded greenery base, as do all of the birds. Her face is beautifully painted for one so small! The realistically molded and painted birds & animals are listed below Dachshund: 3" long & 1.5" tall, black & tan Tom Turkey: 2.5" tall Rooster: 1.75" tall – gorgeous 2-Chickens: 1.5" tall 2-Geese: 1.5" tall 2-Ducks: 1.25" tall 2-Pea Hens: 1.25" tall Bunny: 1" tall The farmyard has a working front gate, tiny fleur-de-lis top the fence posts, and rough coating to the floor to simulate a gravel surface. There is no damage to any of the porcelain figures. There are some small areas of wear and flaking to the painted tin. This is a wonderful toy, colorful and fascinating.
