W. Moorcroft, Ltd., of Burslem, Staffordshire, England, made this stunning pair of ginger jars circa 1928. The pattern is Wisteria and features a deep cobalt background with plump rounded flower-forms in pale yellow, soft red, plum and purple, with variegated green leaves. The jars measure 11 tall with the lids being 2 of that; the top openings are 4.5 across. The jars have a 27” circumference at their largest part. The lids are stamped Moorcroft inside the lid while the jars are hand-signed W. Moorcroft and incised Moorcroft // 769 (or 789) Made in England. In mint condition, except for an old repaired clean crack straight across the lid. The other one is pristine and perfect, the pair is gorgeous and desirable!! When would you find a matched pair!!!!
