This endearing baby is a choice Pierotti-type English poured wax with no repairs or damage. Baby has pale pink wax with hand-painted and engraved brows and lashes surrounding her rare lovely blue spiral glass sleep eyes. Palest blonde mohair is separately inserted in the darkened scalp. The cloth body has floppy joints at shoulders, hips and knees so she sits well. The poured wax lower limbs are stitched on through brass grommets (minor line in wax at top of left leg). Baby’s gorgeous antique gown measures 34” from the shoulder. This is a true Victorian Christening gown, completely hand-sewn, with lace eyelet trim and insertion, half sleeves, tiny porcelain buttons and large sash in back. The equally long, hand-sewn slip has 5 inches of tucks and eyelet hemming. A dainty bonnet trimmed in lace and ruffles, plus petticoat and pantalets complete the costume. This baby is pleasing and precious. From a non smoking home.
