37"x 18.5" GOTTSCHALK 1909 KITCHEN Original Furnishings

Gottschalk of Germany made this early Kitchen Roombox circa 1909 on a grand scale. The excellent condition roombox has original paint and wallpaper, with some worn areas patched using close-matching photocopies of the original papers; newer brass roundhead nails are in the original holes for hanging kitchen utensils. The original furniture, an early stove and a multitude of early accessories are also in excellent condition. Furniture has original cream enamel with pale blue design & pin striping (some have a older thin layer of paint). Some minor paint loss and flaking here and there. The original Gottschalk furnishings are as follows. Wardrobe = 15.5 tall, 12 5/8 wide, 4.5 deep; two shelves, two low doors, two tall doors with twist latches and three shelves inside each side (over-paint) Hutch = 13" tall, 10" wide, 4.5" deep; one shelf, two drawers, two doors (over-pt) Wall Shelf = 7 1/8" tall, 9 1/8" wide, 2" deep Work Table with low shelf = 5.5" tall, 10.25" wide, 3.75" deep (over-paint) Chair = 6 3/8" tall, 3 7/8" wide seat front, 3.75" deep (over-paint) Broom Cupboard = 13" tall, 4 7/8" wide, 2.75" deep (over-paint) All of the drawers & doors open, and there is frosted glass in the tops of the hutch and broom closet doors. Broom Rack = Same era and made in Germany known as Gottschalk is 10" tall x 3.25" across; original cream & gold enamel paint; original utensils: wood & sisal broom, heavy push broom, light push broom, scrub brush, and enameled tin dust pan Marklin tin & brass Stove = Correct for this room box 9.75" wide, 6.75" deep and 5" tall to the cook-top plus another 4" to the top of the smokestack; 4 burner holes and 3 opening doors with brass knobs and latches. Tin pots & pans are original with brass handles and lids: sauce pan, stewpot, oblong boiler, plus an extra round lid for closing the 4th burner hole – the pots all fit perfectly in their burner holes by means of indented bottom rings. A long tin tray with turned-up sides allows 'baking' to be removed from the far back of the oven. There is a large assortment of 60 kitchen tools and accessories included with the kitchen, shown in the photographs (6 pieces-pottery; metals: 4-tin, 5-copper, 3-brass; ironstone with blue pattern: 11 pieces; china with blue pattern-20 pieces; and 11 miscellaneous pieces).
