This wonderful hand made child's toy cradleboard is in excellent condition, made of soft doeskin over wood and soft stuffing, with graceful "paddle leaf" beaded design. We were given the information that this toy cradleboard was made by Santee Dakota Sioux from the western Great Lakes region; it is circa 1870s. The sueded doeskin is stitched over a spearhead-shaped piece of wood and stuffing. A little cloth face peaks out from the hood with dark smudges for features, surrounded by a wavy ...
