Natural Light Cluster OPALS 14kt Gold Ring - circa 1960's

This beautiful opal and gold cluster ring belongs to my aunt who received it as a gift from her husband nearly 50 years ago.

I had it professionally appraised on April 17, 2006 and the report was prepared in conformity with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice - it states this is a 14kt yellow gold ladies ring designed with eight marquise shape cabochon natural light opals, Type 1, prong set in 14kt yellow gold in two tiers, each measuring approximately 6.00 x 3.50 x 1.70 mm, each weighing 0.19 cts for a total weight of 1.60 cts (calculated). There is one round cabochon natural light opal, Type 1, center set, measuring 5.00 x 4.90 x 1.70 mm (approximate) weighing 0.23 cts. (calculated) and is set in a four prong 14kt yellow gold cast setting with a textured finish, stamped 14K on the inside band , weighs 6.5 dwt and is a size 5.
