Dedicated to Finding Value as well as Beauty!
Submitted for your consideration is a gorgeous Art Nouveau Samovar by the Royal Doulton Company. The Royal Doulton Company can trace its origins back to 1815 in Lambeth, England. The 1880’s were a seminal period for this great company as they hired some of the finest porcelain artists of the day to create their utilitarian wares and this in turn established for them an international reputation for quality that is still in effect today.
Please note the classic beauty of this heavy samovar. The work is decorated with enamel floral motifs, both in a striking white color that embellishes the center of the work and the darker design that frames this image. The marking shown on the piece was used from 1881 until 1932, but the word “England” was placed on this mark after 1891, so this is an early work that dates from 1881 until 1890. The item measures 14” in height and it is 8” wide at its widest point. The condition is very good with only some minor wear related to its age including a chip to the rim of the piece as shown in the photographs. It is very difficult to find this piece with all of the original parts in place and we can offer this amazing example from a renowned company for $825.00.
