Submitted for your consideration is an extraordinary burl wood writing desk from the Victorian era. This may well be the most impressive example of this lost accessory that we have ever seen. Please note the gorgeous swirls of the burled wood that forms the outside of the piece. When opened, there are a number of slots for letters or papers, a beautifully decorated crystal inkwell with an art nouveau floral motif design, and three slots for a calendar with some of the original cards. The desk measures 13.5” in height and it is 11.5” long. It is in very good condition with only some minor age related wear. Although there is a lock, the key is missing and when closed the desk does not sit flush suggesting that there may have been another strip of wood that separated the two doors.

We can offer this magnificent item for $1750.00.
