Pair of Neoclassical Ceramic Wall Shelves

Submitted for your consideration is a pair of lovely neoclassical wall shelves that we acquired at an estate sale from a stately home in Scarsdale, New York. These ceramic shelves or brackets are painted black and gold and give the impression that they are carved wood pieces. The tops of each unit, as well as the floral design, the beaded accents and the cone like base are all painted with gilt while the balance of the work is painted in a dark stylish black hue.

The shelves measure 9.5” in height and 8.5” in width. They are in very good condition. One is Mint, while the other piece has a small chip to the floral design on the side that is not noticeable when viewed from the front, and a tight hairline that can only be seen from the back. Pictures of both of these flaws are shown.

These beautiful works can stand on their own as a decorative embellishment of any wall, or they can serve as a base for the display of complementary vases or figurines and they can be purchased for $325.00.
