Signed Limited Edition “Golf’s Greatest Putt” Art Print by George T. Lawrence

Submitted for your consideration is a wonderful limited edition, signed lithograph that commemorates what sports writer Grantland Rice called “ the world’s greatest putt!” In 1929 Bobby Jones needed to sink a 12-foot curling putt in order to tie Al Espinoza on the 72nd hole of the US Open. Jones made the putt and went on to win the playoff. The next year saw Mr. Jones capture Golf’s Grand Slam, establishing himself as one of the sports greatest players.

This print commemorates the centennial of the Metropolitan Golf Association. Noted artist, George Lawrence was commissioned to capture this historic moment in 1996. The print shows Jones just as he approaches the putt, with his signed scorecard, in the lower right hand corner of the piece as well as the MGA emblem. The print measures 30” by 36” and is signed in pencil by the artist. This particular piece is number 201 of an edition of 250. What a great gift this would make for any lover of the sport, the framed, double matted print would grace the wall of any den or office of such a golf enthusiast and it can be had for $550.00.
