Dedicated to Finding Value as well as Beauty!
Submitted for your consideration is an ornate antique mantle clock made by Florence Kroeber. Kroeber was a highly regarded clock maker who owned and operated two successful stores in Midtown, Manhattan from 1868 until 1895. His clocks are highly collectable and a number of books have been published that chronicle his manufacturing history.
This is a beautiful “Richelieu” Clock made in the late part of the nineteenth century. Please note the striking appearance that this classic mantel clocks offers. One’s eyes are drawn to the dark black color of the iron case that is decorated with classic French brass ormolu mountings. The brass design begins at the top of the clock, accents the sides and the bottom of the piece and continues to include the elaborately detailed feet. The dial’s color complements the brass and the large numerals are encased in circular patterns.
This is an 8-day movement clock and it is in excellent condition. The iron case and brass are all intact and there are only a few indications of age related wear. We can offer this wonderful antique from a highly regarded clockmaker for $650.00.
