SOLD Antique Pairpoint Art Nouveau “Canaria” Vaseline Glass Footed Centerpiece

Submitted for your consideration is an outstanding piece of Art Glass by one of the premier producers of the genre. Although Pairpoint can trace its history back to 1830 when it was know as the Mount Washington Glass Company, it is most famous for its creation of Art Glass that was produced around the turn of the twentieth century. Their various glass compositions, many of which became shades for lamps, are highly prized by today’s collectors.

Please note the simple elegance of this gorgeous bowl. This is from the Canaria line, which was produced from 1880 until 1900, and it is a piece of Vaseline glass. The centerpiece is a pale yellow color that is indicative of this particular type of glass. The work is decorated with a grapes and grape leaf motif. The beautiful etched design of the fruit and leaves offer a captivating image. The bowl is footed and it measures 5” in height and is 10” in diameter. It would grace any table and would be a wonderful focal point for any shelf as well. Its condition is excellent.
