Antique Art Nouveau/Victorian Bradley & Hubbard “Boudoir Lamp” with a Slag Glass Shade

Submitted for your consideration is a late nineteenth century Bradley and Hubbard oil lamp that has been converted to electric. Bradley and Hubbard was a company that began in 1852 and continued as an independent concern until the Parker Co. acquired it in 1940. During that time, this Meriden, CT. firm was regarded as one of the preeminent producers of fashionable lamps that are highly valued and widely collected today.

Please note the exceptional craftsmanship that went into the creation of this lamp. The base consists of a wrought iron stand of three artistically formed ribbons. These ribbons lead to six smaller versions of this design that are joined by a band of iron, upon which rests an ornately decorated globe of brass. The B&H emblem is affixed to this section of the lamp. The shade is a perfect complement to the lamp. It consists of six caramel colored slag glass panels with gold highlights. Each panel is separated by a series of brass circles that lead to a brass cover and finial. The lamp was electrified by the addition of wiring and two sockets. Although the lamp was in working order, for safety reasons I have had the lamp rewired and the sockets replaced.

The lamp is in very good shape with only some minor age related wear. The lamp measures 25.5” in height and would enhance any parlor or bedroom table. We offer this lovely antique for $895.00.
