Not often found on the market... or at least, not that I can find, here are two wonderful pins that are crafted in silver 900 and embellished with real emeralds from the mines of Columbia. The stones were tested using my handy-dandy Presidium Gem tester and were confirmed to be emeralds.

Both pins are in excellent condition. They are amazingly well made and quite sturdy. I have cleaned them a bit, but you may want to do some more fine detail cleaning to bring out all of the intricacies.

Each brooch weighs 8.8 grams and measures 1.5 inches long and just over 1 inch high. The back of each piece has a secure pin and rolling lock. They are also both hallmarked at the bottom with 0.900 for 900 silver with a little design before and after the numbers. I don't know if the design has significance with respect to the maker or the area of origin for these vintage delights. It could just be a nice little meaningless design.

I'm not sure of their age, but would speculate based on their appearance that they are from the 1940's or earlier.

These are fantastic, historic vintage collectibles. Use them as a prop to teach or learn about the emerald mines in Columbia! Great little show-n-tell items for school or work... Yeah, I know... not many work places let you do show-n-tell anymore. Just add it to the next meeting agenda and see how long it takes for the pointy haired boss to find it.
