The Countdown to PLATINUM is ON!! ~ All Offers Will Be Considered ~ Just Send a Message... But Not in a Bottle...
Items by BETO are fetching high prices already, and their value will only continue to rise. So now is a good time to grab BETO... you don't want to wait until they get out of reach. BETO is highlighted on page 27 of Hougart's book Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks, and I suspect he will have a larger section when Mr. Hougart publishes that much awaited new addition.
Mr. Burro, however, is ready to go... full of energy to make you laugh. He measures 2 inches long and 2.25 inches tall, weighing 5.1 grams. He has no damage, and very little surface wear... just a few small scratches that can be seen under magnification, which is less than what is typically seen on an item of this age.
Hallmarks include STERLING and 925 inside a BETO TAXCO MEXICO circle. The findings (pin, hinge, and lock) are not silver, but rather a stronger metal called alpaca. This is actually quite common, but most are not marked as such. Never fear, this is indeed vintage, Mexican sterling silver.
This is a delightful find! Get him before he takes off again!
