I've held on to this piece for a long time because my goal was to keep it and add to the collection. But alas, my kids need braces, so I'm letting go of this treasure that is near and dear to my heart.

I carried this glass, along with the sterling and enamel bird brooch all the way to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun, the Pyramid of the Moon and the Quetzalcoatl Pyramid. You can see the photos from the pyramids if you look at item PB1088 in my store.

I have shot glasses and cordials that match the pattern of the sterling in this beautiful glass. So take a look at those too! There are shot glasses (for tequila) salt shakers (for tequila) etc....'searching for my, lost shaker of salt...'

Anywho...the beautiful sterling over glass tumbler is 4.7 inches tall 2.4 inches wide at the top and 2.2 inches wide at the bottom...I've got to insert here that in Taxco, NEW glasses like this one, that are mass produced, were priced at 4,000 pesos. That's $400. Or at least it was 6 months ago.

This beautiful glass is hallmarked with the Eagle 8 emblem, and the artist's initials REF and 0.925 inside a HECHO EN MEXICO STERLING circle. This artist is listed in Hougart's book on Mexican Silver Hallmarks. This is much better than those mass produced new items, at a quarter of the price.
