I have long been a fan of wedding cake beads...of the vintage variety... and I have NEVER seen beads like these before. Ranging in size from 15mm diameter down to 7mm diameter, these olive colored beads with pink, blue, red and sparkling copper "icing" are a spectacular find.

The necklace is 20 inches long and has 40 wedding cake beads in it. The largest beads are front and center, and then the beads taper down in size in both directions continuing all the way to the very old copper clasp. The clasp is in excellent working condition, by the way.

You can tell that these beads are truly hand made, as the sizes are not completely uniform. There are typically two small white and copper accent beads separating each wedding cake bead. However, to keep the necklace symmetrical, there is one place where the artist used 4 spacer beads to account for the variations in bead size.
