Fenton made this Empress Vase after purchasing the Goddess (Kuan Yin) Mold from Holophane which was originally owned by Verlys. These molds were leased to Heisey from 1951 till sold to Fenton in 1966. Ted Mehrer designed this vase. The Pekin Blue Empress Vase was made by Fenton for only one year, 1980 as it was a very difficult glass to make it colors, relying on the glass being blown into the mold. It is ware number 8252 PK. It is 7 5/8 " tall and measures 5 3/8 across the top. The rim is ground on top. The vase has the original Fenton oval sticker on it and the Fenton oval logo on the bottom with the number * underneath it. It is in wonderful shape, no chips or cracks.
