Black on Black Mata Ortiz Pot - Artist Signed

I believe this pot is from the Village of Mata Ortiz, near Chihuahua, Mexico. There is an interesting history of how this pottery developed from someone finding shards of old pottery from their ancestors and then developing the art again to a fine craft that supports this area even today.

This piece is 5 1/2" high x 7" wide. It is a black on black pot that is rounded on the bottom. There is a quilt-like pattern of geometric patterns covering the top half of the pot. The signature of Flora Rodriguez is on the bottom. This is clearly a hand thrown pot and shows some age like wear on the bottom where it rests, but there are no chips or cracks or breaks. This pot is not perfectly balanced...close, but I think it leans slightly to one side.
