This is an early monogrammed bookmark and letter opener attached with a black ribbon. Both the initials and the opener are marked "Leonore Doskow Handmade Sterling". I believe this piece is from the 1930's or 40's.
The condition is very good on both the silver pieces. The ribbon should be replaced since one end is worn and will eventually break away from the opener. The initials measure 1" x 3/4" and the point is 2" x 3/8". The overall length is 12".
The initials are a little confusing to me...maybe MCM or M'CM. I am not sure if that is a "C". The pointed tip has a slight groove on one side that looks similarly to a knife blade, but not sharpened.
