Sterling Silver Glove Darner Mender

We don't need to mend our gloves in this modern age, but there once was a time when we did take care of matters like this and the fashionable lady of the house either had her gloves mended by a servant or she herself took care of that little need.

Since this is a sterling one and it has been used I think it was highly prised as an important tool.

This darner is marked sterling and there is another mark but I can not see it clearly enough to identify it. There are 2 dents on one end of this item but overall it is a nice example of a past working tool. 4 3/8" long. ca. 1900.
