An Interesting Antique Amethyst Glass Chinese Snuff Bottle C1900-1930

Another example of what many collectors call a "tourist bottle", a bottle made in China for the traders and buyers who came buying silk, rubber, porcelain, etc. Now, these bottles are being recognized as a good source of antique bottles for the rest of the snuff bottle collecting world, those of us who'd rather not pay several thousand dollars for a 100 year old inside painted bottle by a listed artist. Now these bottles are being recognized for their own artistic merit, and this one is quite different, as it is colored glass, in a hard to find color, and has a nicely done scene on each side. the primary scene is really very lovely; a forlorn looking young woman sitting on a stone. The bottle is hand blown and polished glass, and is quite irregular, attesting to its antique status. The spoon is dyed bone, typical of early 20th C bottles. Top is glass dollop with a yellow collar of some hard substance - could be bakelite but I didn't bother to test it - who cares? It's old! I have 129.00 on the bottle but I bet you could have it for less than a hundred.
