Delightful & RARE 15" Kestner Character Child Doll 189

This is an extremely rare character which was produced in the early 1900's by the Kestner Company. She is unmarked, which is not unusual for this character....yet unmistakeably a 189. She has exceptional modeling and facial artistry, blushing and detailing of her features. Her unique look came into production at a time when doll artisans desired to capture the expressions of children in play and other natural activities. Kestner certainly found an endearing expression in this little girls face as she seems to be trying to hold still and be rather proper while a bit of mischief stirs behind her adorable gray-blue eyes. Considering her proper but playful expression I have chosen this hand made red checked silk jumper complete with lace pinafore. In this way, she is appropriately dressed holiday festivities and play. No detail was left out of this adorable ensemble which is vintage silk fabric incorporated with antique laces, fabrics...... tiny buttons and button holes. To complete her presentation I have added a simple antique cotton and lace bonnet. She is wearing her favorite pair of antique French red leather shoes, because her favorite story is "The Red Shoes." This child doll is a rare find, a great cabinet size and one of the most delightful dolls I have had the privilege of being able to offer my customers. Maybe she will dance her way right into your collection!
