Welcome to My Shop! I Hope That You Find Something of Interest!
AGE: The back is engraved with the date 1902 - so Antique Edwardian
ORIGIN: American
ITEM: An FOE - Fraternal Order of Eagles fob charm/fob pendant that is possibly a ONE OF A KIND piece!
The front reads "P P - Minneapolis No. 34 - FOE". The back has been lovingly engraved and reads "Token of Regard to A.P. Loomis from Aerie No. 34 - A5 W.P.P. Aeries of Minnesota - W.S.P. 1902."
The center stone is a CZ - I suspect it is a replacement stone for a diamond that was originally in place. Perhaps the family needed the money and removed the stone - instead deciding to sacrifice it instead of the medal itself. Thank goodness. Size of the stone is 4.5mm (.35 pts - a little over 1/3 carat).
What is unique about this piece is the genuine claws used in fashioning this medal. They are in great condition showing natural markings.
METAL CONTENT: 14K Gold (tested, not marked)
CONDITION: Very good. Then enamelling for the most part is in great condition however there is a little missing around the Minneapolis. I have the name of a great enamel restorer so yes, the missing enamel can be replaced.
SIZE: 1-3/8" x 2-3/16" (to top of bale)
WEIGHT: 16.7 grams
HALLMARKS: None
HISTORICAL INFORMATION: A very rare medal to find! The size - the content - well, you just don't see fob charms like this. It must have been hard for the family to give it up. Anyway, purchased I purchased the piece about 25 years ago and this is the first time it has been up on the Internet. I really hope to find this fine piece a good home!
That's it. If any further information is desired, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for visiting my shop!
